Oh, I am recording hold on let me. Hey, Mandy, it took a second. So I'm not sure when we started recording. But hello, my friend. Hello. I'm not sure if it's your in the country or my internet, which my new buddy Tommy Barefoot got installed for me. Look at that. Where a little lag. It may be mine because I have been sitting right here with my phone. And for two days it did not ring when people were calling me. So I think it's our service. And maybe a little above. Well, it's good to see you. And I'm glad you have internet. What's your name? Me too. Me too. It's perhaps a temporary fix. We're not sure. I mean, it is a temporary fix. Yeah. But can we talk about. How about guys. Yes, we can. And how weird they are. Yes, they are. Like these guys are rolled in. There are three of them. One of them was the owner. Well, I don't know that he's the owner of the company because I found out the company is based in like St. Simon's. But people local head dude in charge. And he was just. And then there was the guy who moved here from Washington state. And I'm like, why? And he was fine, but he was just like sort of, I don't know, undershirt as his shirt, you know. And the two of them would just start like talking a secret language, techie language, which I know a little bit up because my friend Lena. And she would work in telecom and she would, you know, have these work calls talking about the head end. And the knot in the switch and all that. Right. Her daughter's just laughed. They those three words all the time. And ways that don't make some sure, but they guess laugh. So I heard I'm talking about the switch a couple of times. I don't know. Anyway, but the star of the show was Mr. Tommy barefoot. Okay. He has been an install installer for 30 years. And among the many things I learned about Tommy barefoot in the three hours he was in and out of my home. His middle name is making. He has an uncle who lives in the in the mountains of Georgia. He said something about South Georgia and said something about Griffin. And I said, Griffin's not South Georgia. So not even close. He had back surgery. This was his first day back at work. Oh, after six months. I had a fusion. And he's not going to be working outside anymore. He's going to be working inside. But let me tell you, I will take Tommy barefoot talking to me about all this stuff. Because that man promises to bring me a box of slow. I'm to made us. Look at that. We shall see if he delivers. Look at that. So that. I would not try to have a Tommy. In my life. Then a smart me. I'm a boss man. Amen. And amen. You have a large weekend, ma'am. I did. I had a big weekend and first couple days of the week. Sunday began the South Georgia United Methodist annual conference. Which is where we come together and talk about things that are thrilling. At Georgia knows come, we're working on things. One evening. Men in headset to ride home. And he's going to be real tired. Pennsylvania. It's like they're going to make mess. And some of them are already working, really. And they don't know me. That's because I miss the good times now. And when I get here to my office to get some time, I'd rather find the audienceII come to have it and meet them. not ever gonna believe this. But my glasses were on top of my head the whole time and I was a weepy mess the entire time. You know your glass is being on your head that's fine. Yeah that's fine. Yeah when I when I sing in the choir like a choir practice I generally pull my hair back and then I stick my pencil. Hmm good choir member always has a pencil to take notes. I will stick my pencil like in my ponytail or my bun. And several years ago we were rehearsing right before we went out to perform for Ash Wednesday and apparently I have no friends in the choir because nobody told me that my pencil was still sticking out of my head the whole time. I love it I love it. Yeah. Oh well it is a beautiful service. I cried a lot. They sang that song here I am Lord one verse at a time and you know those lyrics of here I am Lord it is I Lord I've heard you calling my name I will go where you lead me just broke my will to not cry and I wept and sitting right on the front row thank goodness was a very good friend of mine and there are lots of people on the front rows that were good friends but my friend Cameron Bishop he runs Wesley Glenn Ministries who we'll talk about that another time because they're a great group of people that help our intellectually disabled population as they age but he was sitting right in front of me I'm known him since we were teenagers and he when I started crying he lost it so we were about like trying not to look at each other so we were standing right in front of each other just weeping so anyway it was it was great but it was beautiful I'm meaningful and it was all I will needed it to be so it was a beautiful beautiful service I do sit with you know they're people in life I think Mandy you and I are two of those people who should not sit together at things that are serious yeah and I we choose to sit together my friend Maddie and I who was ordained this year we choose to sit together at annual conference and get the stink out from her grandmother but it makes life tolerable and I secretly think that her grandmother likes it because it entertains her as well yeah yeah for sure so that's how we made conference enjoyable it's just to sit with people who can be inappropriately laughing with you was it could you tell like a noticeable difference this year like where the people are usually there who are not there so that was really last year more so this year but I will say that last year and this year were much more pleasant and I can imagine kind and inclusive and loving and wonderful so I will very briefly very very briefly the the foundry in South Georgia was formed 20 years ago this year and the foundry is a group of at the time it was founded a very small group of progressive and moderate clergy and lady in the South Georgia conference who were trying to be more inclusive and live a lot a life of love and kindness and when they first started some of the more conservative ultra conservative I'll say ultra conservative members of the South Georgia conference would stand outside the meetings and take notes of who was there and then send them threatening emails and phone calls yeah and that was 20 years ago and they endured that for 20 years and I will say this year we ran out of food it was the largest crowd I've ever seen I've been to the foundry every single year I've been to annual conference it was the largest group I have ever seen there and when the bishop walked in the door I think we all were at the same time just thrilled that she was there and we be because of how far we've come and we could not have done that with a lot of the people that have left they would still be standing outside the doors taking notes of who was there and the fact that the bishop came to the foundry meeting this year was it was just amazing and I love her so much so anyway we um not to go on about boring things like a conference but it was you know the most heartwarming part outside of my commissioning service the most heartwarming part of the whole thing for me so it was great yeah and then I got back and went and I got honey and um she gets too stressed out at the vet we love our vet we love the staff but it is just too stressful for her so um my friend Jennifer who's a retired veterinarian and I are coming up with some alternatives for honey for when I go out of town and have to leave her with somebody because it's been a wild few days I have learned more about her backside that I've ever wanted to net boarding is hard yeah it is even yeah even the best boarding such a thing it's just stressful and you know I was not planning on getting a dog when I got one which you know it was always how it goes I was gonna wait till after all of this so I could have time to really be with whatever dog came to me and I'm so thankful I got honey before that but it meant that I was gone for graduation and annual conference and a bunch of things back to back that I already had to do um so I've left for a lot more than I normally would and I don't think that helped yeah so now that we'll have a little bit more quiet time I'm hoping that we can work on a few things that are happening with her anxiety so yeah yeah bless her heart but I'm tired really hard yeah um the other thing is if you're ever in Macon we went after commissioning we went up and my friend Chris bought us a bottle of champagne it was great at the hotel 45 which is in downtown making a cross from the auditorium the city auditorium so if you're there for a concert or anything go to the rooftop bar at night the pictures that you get are amazing with making in the background um and the bar is a great and they have great little appetizers yeah a lot of my friends stayed there when we had our law school reunion um and I never got over there uh I can't remember why I think I was in other places uh late night um but they all really enjoyed it and said yes so it's an old municipal building that's on cotton avenue and cotton avenue runs um diagonally where everything else is in a grid pattern in downtown so the uh city auditorium which is next door and the hotel 45 make the number in the street 45 so that's why they call it the hotel 45 but I think it's a hilton property thanks oh yeah and um anyway they have that great rooftop bar on the six floor so it's hot up and it's just really it's an eight place so head up there and there's an inside part too but um it's really a cool place and you guys place to get some pictures um and then I got home and my and it was on fire y'all that's not true we have an original schoolhouse that was built in like the 20s brick building but with hardwood tender wood inside um had been vandalized a couple times and instead of you know the city making an effort to find somebody to use the space and rehab it they let it sit and so you know we don't know officially what happened but I started getting these pictures that huge flames and black smoke I mean it took them a while to get to the point where they could put the crane fire truck over it to really put it out but you know we have a little volunteer fire department here and others came from around us so we're so thankful for the system of fire fighters that are near here but it took them a long time to get that fire out and one of my members lives across the street and of course in tree vina fashion she sat on the tailgate of her husband's truck and watched the fire burn and she said I had my bag pack so if I needed to leave I could walk across the street but I thought I'd watch it it's like okay yeah yeah that was it was big nice but they really did it was right in the middle downtown so it could have been devastating for the whole town if they weren't able to get in under control so we're very very thankful for the firefighters in our area so but that's the wild week that we've had and there's a camp here so there's lots of extra people and amplified music and hollering and games and things oh yeah the feeling that the lower it is moving them yeah yes indeed it is um I'm it's a lot of people for me this week yeah little too much people for me I can relate so I may abscon to the farm tomorrow so anyway that's my week nothing much fire and brimstone and fire brimstone and how about you made me want to even up to well I didn't do a whole lot um other than try to catch up from you know being gone for two weeks after being sick or right I was gonna ask you how that app worked with the time differences you said you had an app that you use that tells you how to help you get over the jet lag better did that work yeah it's called time shifter yeah and I used it when I went to London and then I used it again this time and yeah I think it does help for sure um I didn't follow it to the tee yeah um but yeah mostly the jet lag coming back it's hard to discern whether it's jet lag or parimenopause um because it's been a lot of weight like 3am which I sort of do anyway um but there was a little bit last week of sort of hitting a wall at 3pm as well um so I just tried to let myself listen to my body yes by the fact that I felt like I need working all the time yeah um but it's fine it's fine and then you know I was all excited about a lot of baseball last weekend yeah with the college uh post season starting as we had discussed uh Vanderbilt was hosting a regional um Vanderbilt uh is no longer in the post season because uh they barely won their first game they did win it but they barely won their first game and then they lost to Louisville which is especially painful because in 2019 the year we won it all um we played Louisville in the super regional and at Vandy and Louisville are actually sort of rivals because they're not far apart yeah they're not they play the same conference obviously but they play each other every year the last Tuesday game is Vanderbilt and Louisville okay and they call it the battle of the people and they have a trophy that's like a whiskey barrel um that they trade back and forth whoever wins that year wins the battle of the barrel so they had sort of a rivalry anyway but in 2019 there was this pitcher for Louisville his hair was dyed like yellow um and it was sort of like you know obviously he had a cap on but when he took that cap off it was really sort of fluffy and tall and he had these glasses on and he you know if he was pitching he was in the zone he was in that pitcher zone that they can get in sometimes and he was kicking our but and he was also a little flashier than you know the Vandy boys like to be Vandy sort of like the braids as far as the level of flashiness gotcha involved there is none him Corbin does not allow it um and so any any level of flashiness at all is more than the Vandy boys but this guy was like even a little more ample pad and then it was laid in things he was you know still pitching still doing really well and he struck out Julian and Ponte who was our first baseman who was a senior who was sort of like sort like Freddie Freeman it would sort of be like if you did this to Freddie Freeman he said Julian's not as good as Freddie obviously who is um but even like Julian had done really well as a senior and then he kind of dropped off and so it was kind of a sad story anyway yeah but he was undisputably the leader of that team and this kid struck Julian out and after as Julian's walking back to the dugout Julian's never gonna say a word to anybody like first of all the whole Vandy boy thing yeah second of all he's Julian like he just did that this kid starts yelling at Julian from the pitching mound F you F this get back in the F and dugout and when I tell you that those Vandy boys came out of that dugout so fast like don't talk to grandpa that's what they call Julian don't talk to grandpa like that and I was like a galvanizing moment yeah for that team we then went on to win the college world series so there's all this history with Louisville in the postseason anyway so for us to lose to Louisville yeah just really heard our feelings and it was like it was like watching the braves anybody who's watching the braves this season it was all of a sudden they're off and it's like we had one like I don't know six games in a row like they've been really good all of a sudden they just went cold if they could not get a hit if they maybe she gets somebody on they could not get him home for love or money it is just for a striatating thing and then Tim Corbin who I love their head coach he made some questionable decisions and then at his press conference Saturday night after they had lost to Louisville there's a female reporter for the Nashville paper who covers the inner rail and has at least two years maybe three like we love her she's great he got so sassy with Arya and was so misogynistic which is so uncharacteristic we're just like what is happening it was awful it was so bad it was bad and then on Sunday they could again once again couldn't get a hit like finally we're able to get some offense going in the eighth inning and had a ground rule double had the ball not bounced over the fence we would have tied it up but instead we lost by one run and around a tournament oh that's a heartbreaker it was horrible it was horrible well if that was a wild tournament anyway right like did you see the Florida coach with all all his I'll tell you this I think this is so funny chipper Jones on Twitter is fun it's a fun follow it until he starts talking politics and then you want a moment yeah so I'm talking baseball you tweeted out yesterday I think maybe commending the coastal Carolina coach who was the recipient of the University of Florida coaches rant yeah the University of Florida coach was apparently pissed off that they had pushed back the game time from noon to one yep which happens these tournaments because like that's far for the course right well he just showed his but he just yelled so chipper tweaked chipper tweets out and he's like I watched a lot of college baseball this weekend and I'll have to say some of these teams are just like you're not wearing new uniform correctly you're showing out like just I mean he just went off and he said but the only team you mentioned is he said I would I really enjoyed watching coastal Carolina kudos to their coach they're doing it right what is so funny is that in the comments immediately when I tell you that the University of Tennessee fans took offense and we're like chipper I know you're talking about us don't hate on us he never said a team well and all the only team he makes look Carolina hold on let's see what this dog is doing uh-oh five oh good girl she's she's fine good good perfect aside of her whole thing there we go anyway chipper gets on today and he says yeah he's like I'm just laughing he said I did the only team I mentioned was coastal Carolina and to say that my comments have been full of people taking offense and he's like I didn't mention your team but hey if you're in my comments taking a shot and then today he's or that I think that was just right maybe and then today he came on and he said okay here's who I was referencing the University of Florida yeah and the University of Georgia which cracked me up because I can't even tell you how many U.T. fans were in there going don't be mean to us and he's not a question no his kids are over yeah he said he's and that's what he told coastal Carolina he said I got to because that coach like they or the coastal Carolina social media um screenshot it yeah his comments and put a picture of their coach and was like you know tweeted that and uh chipper's like I don't know what the etiquette is here I just have to tell you I got two kids at Auburn yeah but I do wish all the best yes yeah well and did you see the coastal Carolina coaches response to the whole thing yes at his first conference yes yeah that was good we forget yeah he called him out like stand up you know our grounds crew and our assistant AD are the best people I know you need to back the heck off basically is what he was saying but it was well and just they're well amazed to handle those sorts of things and that ain't it that ain't it that ain't it um but yeah I would also like for chipper to get a hold of the braves good someone needs to carbon seed it is just y'all it's painful it is painful to watch that's night once again you know and you hold out hope because of the people they have on the team they should be better than they are um and so you hold out hope that at any moment they're gonna bust out of this and so last night like in the eighth inning bases loaded off some rallies uh what happens he strikes out just like madolson did like three games ago like it's like that just that can't happen it can happen every now and then it cannot happen to keep this only for a year and a half which is what has been happening yeah so I don't know I don't I don't know and then everybody's talking about because you know the trade deadlines coming up where any trades that are gonna take place between teams they they can do them now but the deadline I can't remember when it is the end of july or the end of june um but whenever it is it's coming up and some people are starting to say so typically a team is either a buyer or a seller at the trade deadline if you look at your you know look at your season and say there's no way we're gonna make it at the postseason we're not gonna you know have a winning season then you might look to sell off some of your players and typically players that you choose to try to trade are ones who are gonna reach free agency at the end of the season anyway so the concept is let's go ahead and trade them now and get something back for them because we're gonna lose them at the end of the season anyway yeah so we might as well move them now and get some rich men so typically the breaks are buyers not sellers right yeah not looking to get rid of any of their good guys but of course this year there's been some talk as to well might they and say yeah sort of the the three guys that sort of been bandied about the most are our closer uh reselliglaces uh Chris sale our starter everyone that sat in last year yeah and Marcel isn't our designated hitter because all of them are gonna be their contracts are up at the end of this year yeah but like what we trade for we could use a short stop we could use the left filter but everybody we've got on our team is great we could use some bull pin help for sure especially since another bull pin at hurt last night um and uh and uh we lost the starter and the bull I hadn't heard I hadn't heard it update on what is wrong with uh the guy they got hurt last night but so I mean we could definitely use a bull pin help but other than that like we need some off fence but what do we trade for there aren't better players than the ones we have right so maybe next one just is that part of the problem well you know and it's funny we were taught my my braves bestie tech group we were talking about yesterday and like can you trade for leadership can you trade for a clubhouse guy like I don't know the cubs when they paid deansby all that money um they said they admitted yes part of what we are paying for is his leadership yeah is his win it has been a winner at the highest level everywhere he's gone yeah and we want that attitude in our clubhouse well they did and for the first few years that deansby was there they didn't win now once they brought in some superstars together around him and once our buddy PCA you're mostly going to talk about um kind of took off then yeah now they're winning now their five games up in the central like they're one of the best teams in baseball so I think you kind of have to have both and I think maybe we should look at trading for a good clubhouse guy because we certainly have the talent yeah um I was listening to a podcast yesterday and they it's a bunch of former players and they were talking to James and Tyon who's a pitcher for the cubs who had to stick killer keys or um so he only has one ball and he was still in the story of how uh Anthony Rizzo who was the first baseman for the cubs and then uh was traded to the Yankees so the name is first baseman for the Yankees and this is when jama was pitching for the Yankees when this happened and he's you know it was like in the sixth inning he got behind the batter and all of a sudden Rizzo made him mound to visit you know it's not typical for a first baseman to make a mound visit but Rizzo does it a lot apparently uh and he came out to jama and he said look I know you only have one ball but I'm gonna need you to pitch like he got two right now let him hang so is it when you talk to him and this is from our friend Christine Husser summer listener because she teaches um is it D's nut or D's nuts? her kid loves to say that anytime so D's nut okay just check and D's nut? yep i think it's sink killing and Anthony Rizzo is not playing he's not sound with anybody i said well maybe we should just sound anything Rizzo what? just let him come hang out in the clubhouse he's all see what happens i don't them but what i have decided is to just first of all the cups are fun there we go we'll just keep watching the cup dance be in second of all yeah listen the cubs did a giveaway last week last weekend maybe it was the dance be flow headband i had a headband with like curly black hair coming out of the top of it and the best part was like they took it in the clubhouse and so interview different players wearing it wearing it and then the guys and the booth both had it all and stop it but the best the best was the sideline reporter she put it on and instead of like you know typically they're ever sort of beyond the dugout yeah no she was sitting dugout rail and the way the cubs come out is they come out the same way every time e and half comes out first because he's like the longest tenured cub uh-huh and then d's be right behind him so he's always staying in like on the second step right before they like run out to start the game yeah so they do this shot and d's be been on the second step and at least the state in there with the freaking dance it was so funny i love it so funny um but yeah to gnaw might remember just some other things that we can look for to enjoy baseball okay um y'all may remember last year i talked to y'all about a kid named p crow arm strong yes he he the player for the cubs he i think he was originally drafted by the mets but got traded to the cubs before he ever made it up to the uh to the to the biggs his mom is an actor she actually played the mom and i can't remember maybe little league with some baseball movie she played the mom in the movie um he grew up in li this dog is really coming out of her shell um good she currently has the apron from my pesto making class that she is running around with well and for those who don't maybe know ronnie's back and i know you're gonna talk about it but when you say this dog it's ronnie it's ronnie um anyway so pca he got called up near before last and like late in the season and never got a hit um and then he played he was up and down a lot last year and he played better but and was mostly up towards the end of the season but so he he finally like was up this year still sort of a crowded outfield for the cubs but they decided to just uh dh one of the guys that had been playing in the outfield and so pca has been the center of fielder for the cubs all season and he had a bad start he didn't start out great but he eventually started hitting and y'all he has taken off he was listening to a podcast yesterday he's on a list right now with um i can't remember if it's Ted Williams or Todd Cobb but it's like one of the best things ever in baseball and uh berry bones is dad bobby bones he's on a list with the two of them as they have reached i can't even remember now ten stolen bases and ten humbrew whatever it is maybe more than that whatever the the fastest to reach that mark ever so i mean like he has really taken off he's so fun he's so fast he's one of those guys and he's just when he's on the base pads like he's just he's making the pitcher nervous he's making the other infielders nervous like he's just like a little nap you know just stirring up trouble yeah fun to watch he's so fun and he's such a good kid you know credits danesbee and Ian and Nika and all the veterans on that team for you know really helping even showing that be a big leader and make it happen just a good kid so he's fun and then another kid i wanted to show y'all that is he's on the a's he's from Atlanta he kind of grew up in the same group with Michael Harris who plays for the braves yeah um Archeese gris the former brave and Marvin Freeman the former brave sort of checked a bunch of these really good black baseball players in Atlanta under their wing and they all trained together in the offseason and you know they took care of him as little kids growing up going through all the paces and now several of them have made it to the big leagues great Lawrence butler his name and he is so fun he's so fun do we know where he was going to be i don't know i don't know where he went to high school i'll look at him just curious he's been interviewed last week yeah he's been interviewed last week and the guys said something he was talking about how he grew up in Atlanta and said they were playing the a's were playing the Dodgers and uh he was talking about how he grew up in Atlanta so he grew up idolizing Freddie Freeman that's the the guy interviewing was like well so did you talk to him yesterday like when you were in first did you tell him and he goes well not kept in the depth on second yesterday and then he just laughed there we go he's like i just kept running he's like maybe i'll just get a single today i'll talk to him he was at West Lake high school in Atlanta so he was like in Atlanta proper yeah awesome so he's just another kid to look out for he's the Lawrence butler yeah yeah um so anyway just trying to find my joy in baseball so i found some to say it's not with not with the lady boys and not with the braves that's for sure um all of us play in the name is Ronnie is yes i've all of her is now my college team that i'll be rooting for thank you yeah all right where you go there we go okay well we watched that um but yeah and the only other news really is uh Ronnie's back um hey i have yeah we i was just gonna say yay that she's back but sad i think it's not yay why she's there but yeah yeah but i love Ronnie when you had her the first time she's she's a mask now yeah so for those of you who don't remember Ronnie is the intersex dog happy fragment um she was born with uh but disappointed the disappointed it took me not to put that on my face foot post i need a metal um yeah she was born with a year fantasticals both of which were removed when she was spade slash neutered um but she does have a tiny little pain coming out of her but jj still okay i forgot if they removed okay because we think she actually peepees out of it okay i wasn't sure i could be out of the pain coming out of her but jj okay well that's her yeah it's a little it's a little spray sometimes um but yeah if they had removed the pain they would have had to like redo the whole urinary system i forgot that part of the the where we're gonna watch and see if she uh the the fear she would have a bunch of uts but uh her uh the woman who adopted her says she's not had any that's good um now i think as soon as we get home Tuesday i looked at her and she was drinking and i looked at her and when i tell you she had a foot-long trail of snott coming out of her with jj hmm um i'm not exact at all uh but i haven't seen any more so who know so the same of the podcast the back sides of dogs it's thousand percent a thousand percent yes yes she uh she's a funny little thing she um i cut like i only had her for three weeks and say really the only thing i remembered about her was that she had a pain coming out of her of a jj um so i went back and was looking at my stories right was looking at my stories to remind myself sort of what her personality was like and it uh i was talking about the fact that she had just started barking at people and i was like she's like festing at them like she's like gladdest crab it like it's not like an aggressive sort of thing she's festing at them for whatever they're doing got to i mean yeah she like we walked out the door yesterday and there was a cleaning crew as soon as we walk out the door and she was like right i'm scared of people to that love it um um but yes she has opinions about things well hello there's a nose um hi there she is there she is confetti hello hello sweet girl oh no what are we she's sweet yeah she's sweet yeah she's a girl we're going with girl we're going with girl okay sweet girl so anyway that's just we're just having the we're going some boundaries um she the first she won all night in her crate blessed even though it's the same crate she split in for three weeks without a problem when she was here a year and a half ago but last night she did not she at one it's like two in the morning maybe and she gave me a nice little how um um but i told her to have she did so that was fine so i know that she's very stressed out it's the first time one of my other rescue friends sent me a message she's like how where does it have a healthy dog it's like yeah it's the first time i haven't gotten a basket full of drugs along with the dog uh which is fine except that i'm gonna need some triadzone right to not this dog out at night yes so is she already we're available for adoption because she's healthy or are you going to let her decompress a little bit and then okay good no she's ready now so yeah we'll see she's but she lived with two whims um i we did the meet and greet at my friend sleazy's house in the backyard and i can't remember being so nervous um but she you know she's just bossing yeah and so you know as long as other dogs okay letting her be bossy it's fine but she's come going real strong um she feels like a Karen to me a little bit she have Karen energy yeah yeah Karen what have been a good day in her face like she just has one of those um i think she looks like she's looking at you yeah um phylharbia yeah oh anyway that's what's happening around here there we go um so kettie talked to us about you i was excited to see your food because you know this is one of my favorite things okay i'm happy to talk about it yes and i will then so when i'm done with my toppings i want you to maybe give us some alternatives as well and i'll type them in as we talk so um you know i'm gonna say the word i believe just one time but we're always looking for a vessel or a different way to get our protein in um and i had seen a lot of this on you know the food tick-tock stuff or wherever but i was up in Atlanta at graduation and i got some of the Trader Joe's Hash Brown patties that everybody seems to just love and they're great but they're just Hash Brown patties there's nothing real special about them so you can get them anywhere um they have them here at the pig it's a brand that was blasphemous which is it just Hash Brown patties first of all there's nothing better oh i know excellent Hash Brown patty yes you're nothing better in the world right but don't don't want to admit what's there's like not onions in it or some kind of seasoning that makes them different from other Hash Brown patties so if you like me do not live by a Trader Joe's you can get other brains thank you don't wonder yeah because there's nothing here but a pogly wagly and a dollar macchia holler general um so what i did um is uh on one set and i was i did too many but you can't just open up an avocado and eat you know i mean i could have put the whole thing on there anyway so i did cottage cheese everything bagel seasoning and then i have some homemade pickled red onions in my refrigerator that i keep and it was delicious and then on the other one i did avocado i did mandis very famous now slow roasted tomatoes and grated goat cheese and i think i've talked about this before but if you have not gotten a little longer goat cheese to put in your freezer yet you need to do it it is the best thing i have found cooking wise in a long time you know how when you go to get some goat cheese out and you just want a little bit but it's so sticky and messy and it gets everywhere when you freeze it it doesn't and i just grated it with a hand grater over the slow roasted tomatoes and avocado y'all it was delicious delicious um and then i also tagged a pickled red onion recipe they're out there i know we've talked about this before too you can do them a thousand different ways but i believe i got this one off of epicurious and i believe it was the bon appetit version they're so easy to do um so yeah so make your own pickled red onions they're super easy to make and they're delicious so there we go what do you like on your hash brown patties man i will typically fry a couple of eggs and then a little spinach or a rougola in the pan at the very end of the frying process and then put those on top of the hash france along with um um chili crunch girl i'm here for that yeah i like it so i just i just i added that to our list as well so i'm definitely going to have to try that um probably public size chili crunch i'm sure right because i highly know that the pig i might have to order some yeah yeah yeah because the pig will not have it um but that's my food for the week it's delicious um it's got lots of protein and it's um something a little different to do with your um slow roasted tomatoes if you haven't made them yet this season here we go okay here we go i have not had any today that yeah this really really good because she's decided to play oh fine um yeah and she's the ding dong there we go honey ding dong finally started playing again early this morning but it was so sweet to see your start to play again that i was happy that even though it was early so that's good yeah yeah so um yeah okay she helped us with the travel stuff last week i was doubling up this week and we'll get back to our regular schedule but while you were um uh convalescing and in Europe i don't know if you saw on tiktok this kind of every once in a while there's this big trend on there and then one of the new ones is black girl shower talk and these beautiful black women by the way black women are going to save us because they've been through some shit and they know how to survive anything and so if you ever have a question about life ask a black woman and they can give you the answer including hygiene and how to shower y'all when i tell you my life has changed my skin has never felt better i think it's funny too and like the first thing i remember the first time i remember you by talking about it was on armchair expert um Monica it was time out her legs were dry and dax was like well do you wash them every single time and she's like well yes and i had heard like i think on black twitter before there have been some discussion about people who don't wash their legs every time i will come out publicly as a person who does not put soap and wash my legs every time i take a shower i'll just go ahead and tell y'all so i didn't say dax and monica came up with kits pits and slits so and then apparently they talked to they talked to meena and ash den about this when they were on and then it like hit the you know people magazine circuit as yes but yes i had like so i have been aware of this uh scenario for a while well my life has changed well my legs are so dry right now that i was excited to see this as a topic this morning because i need some for the first time in my life mine or not because i was the same way when i wash up all my torso the soap just runs down my legs that's good enough right apparently it's not the black girls tell me it's not and i believe everything they say so i'm gonna give them credit i'm not trying to appropriate i'm trying to pass on the message and the first thing i'm gonna do is give you two of my favorite people on tiktok to follow one of them by the way is openly a stripper and lord knows her body is her the way she makes money and she's beautiful and she's kind about all of this you know a lot of the comments on these at first were like how do these white girls not know how to take a bath and i was like well they just didn't know and they've been very kind so her one of them is naon there her name on tiktok is Terry and it's spelled out in there it's t-e-r-r-e-e and the other yeah that's the stripper stripper spelling yes or like the stripper spelling of my name i do not strip nor could i ever get money for anything to do with dancing in a naked form but my parents gave me the stripper spelling anyway yes they do carry in for confirming my joke i have been making for years continue thank you Katie yes so terryan is great and she and her if you look in her profile she will help you with scent matching like if you like citrus scent she has a whole video just on where to find this kind of scent if you are allergic to everything she has a hypowallergentic reel that shows you exactly what to get if you can't use a scent your bandit's not girl she is on it the other one that is also on it in that very same way um her little name it's not a handle i don't know what they call it on tiktok is um all one word taylor ram suit ta y l o r a m s u e taylor ram suit it's in the notes she is precious and beautiful and i will do anything they tell me to do but what i love about this is they basically tell you some of the same things they have different perspectives on it so i know that these things are legit because everybody has been saying the same thing so i'm going to very quickly go through it and give you a couple of tips but you should watch theirs don't just take my word for it this is what i like and what has worked for me that they have given me but i'm not trying to steal their thunder you should follow them they're amazing women so in the shower ladies this is the first thing that has changed my life we should be double washing they wash with one kind of body wash to get rid of the dirt and oils and then they use a moisturizer moisturizing body wash to replenish the correct kind of moisturizer and oils it takes an extra minute or two nothing you know this adds a little bit to your day but not that much but here's what i use the african net sponge is also a revolutionary it is uh i think they're originally from nageria but their hand-notted they are not like spread out lufa they are hand-notted sponges that are hypoallergenic and they last four years without collecting bacteria and then i was so proud of myself well that's what they those two ladies both told me that so whatever they use to make the knots supposedly that material if you get the real one which i have linked the one that they said to get if you get the real african net sponge and not just a drawn out lufa that is supposedly hypoallergenic and will not hold bacteria i was very proud of myself that i used one of the products that we use already and i've talked about it but i re-put it on here is the um notorious multi-ohl hydrating body wash i love it i've loved it since i started using it so they do that as their first wash and then a moisturizing body wash after that i'm a vanilla scent girl so i put the vanilla and sandalwood native that i have found that i like but you get what makes your heart happy but it needs to be a moisturizing body wash for the second one i have in the hour a usern body it's like an oil body wash that my dermatologist recommended to your secretary and that would be your first wash because i didn't know this but they told me that an oil-based body wash will get the oils off your skin because oil collects with oil and it pulls it off i did not know that that's what they told me though uh both of them told me that then once you get out of the shower and this is the other thing maybe if you don't do anything else that i talk about today i think you're going to love this next thing which hazel do you know about which hazel i feel like i have i use i think a theory like that i accidentally ordered the jugginaquin um it was like a toner that has which hazel in it yes and that's what they suggest it both of them don't know each other but they both use this product so i linked it you can get it anywhere any of these products you can get anywhere but as we tend to do here on this podcast i linked it to the original shop and store online you can get it at um Jeff Bezos' store if you would like um if it's easier to get it there but they're all linked with the original um company website so this witch hazel especially for us that live in the swampy south is amazing it kills the bacteria that creates odor it does not keep you from sweating so the first thing you do is put it on your what did they say pits yes and slits yes and slits you put it anywhere that sweats it will not keep you from sweating it keeps the bacteria that makes you smell from sweating from forming did they produce this product in a vat yes let me tell you where i sweat yes everywhere so they will tell you you definitely too crazy yes i use little cotton pads i put it on before i put the other one which they told me to do i put it in all my folds under my crevasses in between the front and back cheeks all the things feet my feet sweat so i've started putting it on my feet anywhere you sweat back your neck all the things i have not not smelled bad at the end of the day in the summer my whole life but now with this it is so much better and i feel like the swampy sial needs some witch hazel in their lives and it's not expensive either so get the witch hazel if nothing and then after that you next do a moisturizing lotion which i have been using this for a while too the vanilla cashmere smells so good from eos it's a shea butter a shea better shea butter body lotion but then they said and this is where i was like i don't know like oil like my skin i don't know how it's going to do y'all it works the body oil locks in the moisturizer so unless you're wearing and this is what they said unless you're wearing a silk shirt the oil will not transfer really to clothes but you gotta let it dry but it will lock in your moisturizer so my skin feels really soft all day long i don't have to reapply it's amazing and then this body mist is some more all but it's more for scent so again i'm a vanilla girl so i did the vanilla lotion vanilla bourbon body oil and vanilla and cream duo but you can get a citrus selection of scents anyway they will help you with all of that kind of stuff this is what works for me it has been life changing i've never smelled so people stop me and say you smell so good well you probably smell like a cookie coming right but it and it lasts all day what will happen? what will happen? what will happen? yeah so follow those women well it's an exciting yes it is again if nothing else get some of the cotton pads and get that witch hazel it especially and like you call it the wet sock you will love it okay so there we go those are all my new mitts and i am a little skeptical i'm a little skeptical of my ability to remain dedicated enough to apply those body moisturizer and body oil right so i don't because i don't even wish there are no body so we're gonna really have to step up and be your team so i started just with the lotion and then i found a body oil that i thought i would like and then the body mist but so maybe just start small yeah i was the same way i never moisturized i never put never a thing a lotion anywhere but now it's and now that i've done it enough it does not take very long i'm you know i just zipped through it and i just i feel more i know this is crazy but i mean you're in our same generation like i've never spent this much time on myself and my life and i have to even keep telling myself i deserve this when i'm putting lotion on how that was that but um the witch hazel has been the most life changing your mom's relationship no because mama put lotion on mama was looving up well maybe like it was so annoying because you'd be like we put lotion on my back yeah i don't want to put lotion on your back and maybe that's why we're averse to it maybe she did and maybe she does i don't know i haven't lived with her in a while but you know she just didn't pass on any knowledge about any of that so yeah you know well they didn't have all the they didn't have options we have no no no so anyway follow this woman that's the big thing follow them let them help you but these are what works for me okay which hazel i'm telling you for the wet sock for the wet sock to rival let me say i was walking this morning going hot on my knee i don't know wow i don't want to say out loud that it's not been that bad here yet i'm knocking on everything it's not that bad it's done it's not even yeah we don't even have that yet so we've had some nice breezes yeah i know right like i'm trying to not just scare it away right so what's going on with your weight rest and we're rest and then it's pentacost on sunday so i'm wearing my red shoes again which will be nice and then in a couple weeks a friend amounting hour going to the mountains she's now an empty nester and i have been through all the things and so we're going to take our she's going to take one of her dogs she's got a bunch and i'm going to take honey and we're going to get the mountains in a couple weeks so that's kind of the next good thing that i'm looking forward to okay that'd be fine yeah how about you what you got going on Ronnie and i'll be we'll just be here barking at all the people i love it i'll love it well hopefully she'll find a new home soon yes hopefully so she really is pretty easy yeah fingers crossed yeah you need to get her um a moment like who's that lady on threes company that i'm thinking of the downstairs neighbor mr roper you need to get her a missus roper movement where her when you're business girl i love it let's think yeah everybody uh gonna find your people
