Mandy. Hello, Katie. How are you? Oh, about the same. Left a voicemail for a friend with a name he called back and left me a voicemail who said, you sound like you're dying. That's like, well, sorry. I mean, if this is what you sound like dying, what the heck does he think it was about three weeks ago? Well, granted he didn't talk to me three weeks ago. There we get. Well, there we go. Yeah. Yeah. So, it's like, well, you know, when you have to call clients back, with your late on something for because you're sick, sick, and you're so sorry, and you do say, you know, it's that thing where you're going to be sick, you want to sound sick. Yes. But at least I have that going for me. You do. You absolutely do. But I do have to call them to get that sympathy. So, I hate that. Right. Well, Phil is sitting on all things sports and baseball and all things was going on in your world. Nothing's really going on in my world. Had my final post-op appointment yesterday. Sounded a final post-op appointment because I'm better, obviously, but this is a final post-op appointment because I'm done. But, yeah, so that's that. Other than that, I've just been watching baseball, a lot of baseball. Braves have even doubt they still not great. We can't get everybody firing at the same time. Right. And, you know, Spencer Strider came back for one game and then heard his hands string. So, he's pitched four innings this year. I don't. I don't. Yeah. Ronald the Cunus is not back yet. But I will say, a J. Smith's shower. He's one of our young pitchers. He pitched a couple of times early on and then he got sent back to AAA when Spencer came back. Yeah. Then, I got called back up after Spencer got hurt again. And his last two outings have been really good and he took a no-hitter into the eighth inning the other night, which was great. Yeah. He's from Texas. He got drafted to play quarterback. Can't remember if it was Texas Tech or TCU, like one of the smaller Texas colleges. Yeah, he's just big, old cute boy. So, glad to see him doing well. And then Bryce Elder, who pitched really well two years ago, pitched well enough to make the all-star two years ago in the first half. And then he's just really struggled since then. He's actually had a couple of good outings. So, that's good. So, the pitch is getting a little leveled out even before Spencer comes back. Yeah. We have a chance if we win tonight, we will be 500. Yeah, I think like week two of the season, I ask you because we were so far behind how long it would take us to get back to 500. And here we are at its May 7th. That's right. The year we won the World Series, we did not get to 500 until August. Okay. So, we're not without hope. Right, you never know. So, we'll see, I mean, it'll be interesting to see sort of, you know, Ronald and Kenyue's going to come back. The guys that are really sort of the most sort of consistent right now are the guys who are plugged in. Yeah. And so, it'll be interesting to see what happens when all these folks come back sort of. How all that's handled. But yeah, it's fine. The braves are sometimes fun to watch. The cubs remain really fun to watch. Yeah. And in the crazy games, part of it's rigly, and you know, just the craziness of really field this time of year with the win and the cold or the not cold or the, you know, one game, they, because they can calculate how much the wind affects the outfield. And one game, it was as the wind was such that it was as if it were blowing, it mean, it was like 50 feet. Wow. How far it was blowing the ball back in just in left field. Just in left field. Just in left field. Right field. It was only like 10 feet. I mean, they don't call it the windy city for nothing. But right. I mean, so it's just crazy. So, crazy stuff happens just because it's rigly. But then they also just, you know, their offense is fine right now. It's just their fun. They, they, I mean, they had a game against the Diamondbacks a couple of weeks ago. And between the two teams, they scored like 15 runs in an inning. Wow. It just nuts. And then last night. So last night I was watching Vandy, Braves and Cubs all at the same time. And everybody went into the ninth inning behind. The Braves and Vandy were both behind one run. The Cubs were behind two runs. Vandy lost. But the Cubs and the Braves both tied it up in the ninth inning. Braves walked it off in the ninth inning. But the Cubs went into the eleventh inning. And I turned it off when they went down nine to five in the eleventh inning. The final score was 14 to five. I don't even know what happened. Yeah. So yeah. I've just been sitting around watching my baseball. Well, I see you. And I don't know anything about like, I didn't know they were still even signing people at this point. But I think you, a little kid from Macon, um, look, his parents were probably not even in school when I was in school. But he's from a high school. He played with all my former coaches that I kept the books for and was a manager for his name's Austin Cox. He's going me in the minors. He's not like in Atlanta, but he was signed with the Braves. So were there any other, which will be fun for me to watch? But are there any other standouts that we've signed or see the only one we've signed? I mean, the guy in the boys might as well have local boys, right? Yeah. Yeah. Now, the only, I mean, really, truly, the only thing, the only person we signed in the off season was Jerks and Preford. He's the one that got popped for steroids. Right. But I mean, really, truly, like, we really didn't sign. Very many. And yeah, they saw it's weird. The way he signed folks to, no, he and Anderson's back. Remember Ian pitched. Yeah. Everyone the whole series. And then he wasn't doing so well that next year and then sure enough, he ended up needing Tommy John. He had Tommy John sort of midway through the 22 season. Yeah. And tried to come back like the very end of the last year. He was in triple A most of your tried to come back sort of the very end of last year. And they like just didn't. We kept thinking they might calling him up towards the end of the season. I don't think they ever did. But so he was sort of he and I j smith shot, sharper. We're sort of in competition for that fifth starter role in spring training. And AJ Smith, sharper obviously one. And so they actually traded into the angels where you know, our old coaches were on Washington and Eurichand, junior R, um, try to store no signed with them. Little D, our beloved little D, the catcher, signed with them in the off season because the brace didn't they had an option and they didn't exercise their option with him. Let Travis go. The brace fired our catching coach. And he went to the angels. And so they signed Jorge Selaire who was the MVP of the World Series. When we the year we won it, like there's a ton of former brace on the angels right now. And so Ian also got traded to the angels. Well, the angels optioning, which means they basically letting go. Right. And so are they deffating. And so the braves picked him up and he's back in AAA. So there's two years he can come back, which is a good story because you know, he's done good things for us. Yeah. Um, yes. So Verdugo, they signed Verdugo after pray for our got popped Alex Verdugo, um, came up with the Dodgers, got traded to Boston, and then played. He was the, uh, Yankees starting left field or he played World Series last year. Yeah, he and I got signed by anybody. Um, in the off season. And so he was available. So when pro far got popped four games into the season, um, we picked him up and he's been really well. He's really sort of was a spark plug for our offense. Yeah. I don't know. Like last night Marcelo's they didn't walk it off. I don't know. There's, I think there's just something going on in that clubhouse. Yeah, it seems like it. So, but we'll see, but that's the Avani boys. Um, they're, they've moved up. They play Tennessee this weekend. Ooh. In Knoxville. Well, they're kind of pissed. Oh, Knoxville and that God. Listen, you saw my Instagram post. Yeah. A dance. I mean, Tennessee lost the series to Auburn last weekend. You're welcome. And I tell you, I got kicked out of the second game. They started playing on Saturday. Got suspended because of weather. So they ended up playing the double header on Sunday. And I think that first game of the double header by tell I got kicked out of the game because he's a tiny, whiny baby. Yes. And then if you shared, I think it was Auburn barstle, um, post that had a picture of a tiny, whiny baby above that tele. I was like, yes, you raise them up. Right. Yeah. Yes. So, um, anyway, that's really sort of that and just obsessively researching restaurants in Italy. I love it. It's sort of all I've been doing. I did. I did. I have some presents in town. My friend Sam, he's so over here, um, isn't down and he takes to me Sunday. And so would you like to come watch the sunset with us? So I did and we walked back to the condo. Like it was a, it was a decent little jaunt. Yeah. Um, and I didn't get winded. So I don't know, maybe I won't die in Italy. No, I think it'd be fun. We'll see. We'll see. Anyway, what's going on with UK? I'm sure you're like this much more entertaining. I mean, it's crazy as always, but I don't know. Um, I was driving down the interstate of the day and I saw something I had not seen in a very, very long time and it was down here in South Georgia. Um, uh, there was a Mary K. Pink Cadillac, like an Escalade, big old giant pink Cadillac and I had Mary K kind of vanity played on it too. I didn't know people still did that enough to get a Cadillac. Yeah. Who's buying enough Mary K? It's for somebody getting Escalade. But it's a brand new one. It's a big and I, and I, I saw it in my review mirror and I went, I said exactly the same thing you just asked, who the hell's still buying Mary K? But there we go. So there was a spotting in the wild. Me. Me. I guess. I guess. I guess. Um, so now that I'm done with assignments, I mean, look, I read an entire book and it did not take three months. Like, got a whole extra 24 hours in your day. I do. It's amazing. It's so good. Um, and it's in my favorite. So I'll say, you know, talking about the actual book, but like, it was so nice to go, okay, what do I have to write? Oh, I don't have to write. I can say her and just read a book if I want to. Good. Revolutionary. You've already been in your job long enough that you do have, you know, I'm sure you have job things, but yeah, your early and math that it's not because, you know, there's that little window, as you know, because you graduate, you go into work full time before. Yeah. It's like, you have that window that will honeymoon between, oh my god, I don't have any homework. Yep. Before you're then completely weighed down, but work stress, 100%. Enjoy it. Yes. That's what I'm going to really try to be intentional about because I mean, look, you never can be in ministry part time. You just can't. It's just not a thing. But technically, I don't start full time until July 1st. And so, not that much will change, but I'm trying to be very intentional before that date to do things for myself. Yeah. Will it happen? I don't know. But at least this time before graduation and before commissioning, I'm really looking to just take a breath. So yeah, it was nice. It felt good. I went, wait, I've just finished. It's been a while. But it was good. It was good. I did. I also went out to make in for a couple days. We had a while, I went to dinner with my friend Will at Dufftail, one of my favorite places. And then the next night, I'm on the the board for the foundation of the Methodist time for children and youth. And for 150 some odd years, they have been taking in children that have no where else to go and helping them through their teenage years and transition to college and adulthood. They do such amazing work and have for a very long time. And you know, I'm just so thankful to have the opportunity to help them out, however I can. So we had a dinner at Natalie's, which was nice. And then I know a lot of people on the board. I mean, I think I bring the average age down probably by 20 years. But that's fine. I love that. You know, I love my old people. So it was so good to be with my friends and to see them. And then we had the actual board meeting the next day. And it was, it was great. You know, it's the things that they can do to help these children, not just house them while they're there, but give them an education, give them opportunities, teach them skills. You know, a lot of what the Children's Home does, children's home does, is a lot of food service training. So it's like a privilege because they rent the facilities out. It's a privilege for those kids to earn the right to be able to wait the tables and get their tips and learn how to run a kitchen. And so they do a wide variety of things. It's not just you have to go to college or, you know, encouraging just to go to college. But a lot of these students learn trades and which is also great. So it's just a great place. So I got to do that, but I also got the shop and my favorite creators, of course, Tiz the season for graduation gifts. So I did all that. And yeah, so it was a great couple days. Honey is doing well. I forgot to put this on my list, but honey's doing well. I've had to drug her up a couple days because I was leaving her and I didn't want to stress out and get real sick. So she's chilling like a villain. Living in chemistry is a big mod of the rescue. Right. So I gave her a full dose the night that there were some bad thunderstorms and she slept the next day too. So I realized that maybe I needed to have it. And so that's what I'm doing. I'm having it. And she's she could care less about life right now. Which is great. Yeah. Yeah. It's been very helpful. The only other thing that I've been watching sports wise or from afar, I did not watch the game. I should have if I had known it was on I would have put my book down. But I had not followed as we're getting into tournament time for softball. And then that means baseball is right behind it. So we're starting right now with softball SEC tournament. And Auburn lost yesterday to Alabama by one run. We left five runners on base. So but the the commentators after the game, I caught the very tail into the game. The commentators were saying that you know it's one of those things where the SEC tournament is great. But like they're still going to the big tournament. So that's coming up. But that also means baseball. SEC baseball tournament is what next week for the next. Probably we haven't looked but if we play we typically UT's usually our last regular season. And it's usually right after like the following week after softball. So that would make sense. That'll be fun to watch. Coming up and with all my extra time I now have. Yeah. And Auburn's been doing pretty well. So we'll see. Yeah, we'll see how the postseason goes. So but that's about all in my world. Mandy tell me about your feed. When I say I'm tick tock my hyper fixation meal. Yeah. Hyper fixation. So I would like to fall. Indeed. This is my current hyper fixation meal. Okay. I get the good sourdough from Black Bear. Pre-cut. No. But I cut it very carefully. And then toast it while it's tasting. Chop up a little bit of cucumber and some cherry tomatoes right now because we're not in good tomato season yet. Right. And usually so slice the bread or some olive oil on it. And inevitably a little bit of olive oil is still on the cutting board. So I just mix the tomato and cucumber and that will all of oil that's on the cutting board while the bread is tasting. Now once the bread is toasted I get a garlic clove and rub that over the bread. That's my girl. And then top it with some cottage cheese because and then say the word. And then we're not going to say. And then put the tomato and cucumber on top of the cottage cheese. And if you have like I have some dill. I'll put some dill on it. You could do some uh traitor jays. Everything bagel seasoning if you wanted to. Just some nice glaky salt. It's nice. Do you know where I ate it at least once a day? I love it. It takes seven minutes. There we go. Get some protein and some fiber drink. It's just okay it's it's my high-prefixation. I love that. I love it. How do you recommend it? How do you recommend it? I might have to go up to the minute night. I mean it's a not a brown look in the corner. The key is to have some good bread. There we go. There we go. Well that sounds great. I love that. Um I- She's like fast and easy. Yeah. Yeah. And it has the pea word. Yeah. And fiber. I've decided I'm just as obsessed about fiber. Yeah. Same. She has seeds for the win. I've also started doing that um call it minipaus smoothie um I mean it's we can we can talk about that today. It's not really recipe. Yeah um um dumps I have an immersion blender. The cane with a little plastic um it's wider than a turvus but you know it's right. It sort of sizes a big turvus tumbler um and I'll just dump frozen pretty in the bottom of the mixed berries of the mango um and then a couple of big spoonfuls of Greek yogurt um and then sort of whatever I have in the fridge. I've had coconut water I put in there, milk you can put in there um and then I'll add some chia seeds. I'll add some hemp hearts. I'll add just straight up fiber like I had some metamiesel that I had for the dogs at some point and what I was under narcotics I just started adding that in there too so I thought well can't taste it might as well keep adding it so I did as well. Yeah I've just I do that at least once a day. I love it. Get my minipaus smoothie in. If if I'm doing the mango I'll use coconut milk um and you at FeatherDap put a little mint in there. Love it. A little weaitha wine like just pretend it's a boat drink um instead of a smoothie. Love it. Yeah anyway that's that's sort of all I've had the energy for it lately it's just easy stuff but still trying to check all the boxes I love it. Another one I do is the fair life protein shakes. You get the chocolate ones yeah and you put in a frozen banana and then a couple of scoops of the powdered peanut butter and that's just a peanut better chocolate milkshake. Love it. Anyway that's what I've been existing on. Thanks for that take five minutes. I need to get what do you and maybe you said this and I was getting right to type but tell me what what do you use to blend it? That immersion blender? Just the immersion blender. You don't have a bullet or whatever like ninja blah blah blah. Those things are so expensive. I'll leave it in the the big plastic beaker thing that I mix it up and I stick a straw on that and drink it out of that. Love it. Love it. So there you go. Yay thank you. I know it's not been used. I'm definitely I'm gonna all those look appealing to me so I can't wait to try them. Okay we'll talk first about your favorites Katie. Well the book I finished was by the same guy that wrote crazy rich Asians and I did not read that book I saw that movie and it was a beautiful movie and it was a fun story and so I read Lies and Weddings by Kevin Kwan and it is not what I normally read it's you know but it was really good. It was a good light really light summer read. You know with the times we're in the excessiveness was a little you know at times like okay. Yeah yeah but it can also be okay. It wasn't escape and it was a really good book and the characters were good it was a different story than crazy rich but it was you know like the mother in this story was not like um oh who plays the mother in crazy rich. I can't I've seen that but I can't remember your name. Oh she's so great she's one and Oscar anyway she was very stoic and subdued but this mama is wild. I mean it's just it's really good really good so if you need an escape just no going in that sometimes in our economic climate you're just gonna go that's just a little bit of a sniffing shit face. But it's really fun. Speaking of are you freaking out at all about our supply chain. Oh yes I've got like are you buying so I've bought a couple things I don't know what I don't know. We'll see. I did see that somebody sent video put video up on TikTok this was somebody off follow randomly that just happens to live in Seattle was that across the street from the port of Seattle and there was never a boat in the place like not a single ship. That was the first time I went. Yeah I think I went and get toilet paper really before I needed it. I have a really good stock of toilet paper. I live in 580 square feet I can't stock up on stuff. And I live at a campground I'm just gone. Right so it might not be high quality but I'm gonna let others have at it. I did read somewhere that you should go ahead and get an extra bag of dog food. Oh yeah well I do that fresh pet or farmer's dog or whatever you're looking. It's nice to be found. That should be fine but I did need to get some for the cats. Because they get the regular old stuff. I will say too for the cats have started following us on our walk both of them and they're so cute like I'll turn around and they'll just freeze like they're sneaking up on us or something. But it's really cute. They it's so fun to watch. I'll get some pictures of them following us and just thought it's down. It's fun. Okay sorry I didn't know you're good. You're absolutely good. I love that. We needed to say that I think out loud. So anyway summer read, las and weddings, how I recommend. The four seasons on Netflix. If you have not watched it you should watch it as soon as possible. It's some of the best TV I think I've seen in a very long time. Did you watch it? I haven't. Oh, it's baseball. What? It is on my list for when you have a message. I don't have baseball. It is so good. It is Tena Faye, Coleman Domingo, Steve Carell, and then two people that are oh and will forte and then two people that are recognized but I would know what they've been in but you'll recognize them. It is so good. It's like the big chill vibes but they don't start off at a funeral you know because that's why they all get together. So this is a group of college friends that get together four times in a year and so it's that year of vacationing together and where their lives take them. It was a movie back in the 80s with Alan Alden and Carol Burnett. I have not watched that so I really want to get back and watch the movie version. I've heard they're both equally wonderful. One of the couples they changed into a gay couple, the Coleman Domingo and his Italian. I mean it's just so good. Tina Faye wrote a beautiful show and Alan Alden makes an appearance and he's so cute. It's just it's one of the best things I've seen in a very long time so I cannot recommend it enough. I laughed out loud like a lot and I mean I'll chuckle to myself or smile to myself when I'm watching something but like I was laughing anyway it's really good and Tina is so good. Also ahead of what we're currently in the middle of I watched Conclave. Have you watched that? No this I had not watched it and then when we have the Conclave out of sight of we should wait because I'm going to Nashville. Exactly. We should all watch it together. Yes I think that is excellent. It is a very good movie. Most of it. Well I don't just from the news reports that I've watched about the process. The actual process is very close to what they really do. The story is pretty crazy but it's you know Voldemort, Ray Fahne is just he does such a Ralph Ray whatever you want to call him. Lord Voldemort is so good in this. He is so so good. It's a beautiful story so definitely watch it together. It's really good. Did not see the twist coming so it'll be good. I think you'll like it. And then the other thing that's out right now that I've really enjoyed is the new season of hacks. I'm sorry that yeah that's another one like I get so behind our base pulsing. Right right well right just in the stands you need to watch first. So watch that because that's all out now. Yes it's all out now. I did see the last episode and it's very good. It's typical. It's really good but hacks has been really good this season too and it's um I've enjoyed it so watch that as well and they're not they're what three seasons so it's not that hard to catch totally up if you haven't watched it but it's very good. I'm also today I started or maybe yesterday I started the one that you recommended last week the studio. Oh yeah. And slapstick is the best or slapsticky is the best way to describe it. Like the first episode I was like it's not very slapsticky but by episode two I was like okay I see what we're doing but it's really interesting I love the way that it's written like each episode is about a different kind of film genre and it's so good it's good it is slapsticky though. You should listen to a Seth's interview on farm chair expert. Oh okay yeah because it's like it gives you a lot of insight into why he wanted to do it and like have they film it and all that kind of stuff. Yeah it was really really interesting so far it's been really good so I've liked it. The cast is good. He's the guy that's the executive that's like his best friend. I don't know. It's I bear in something he's been on farm chair expert. I think that's a good interview on farm chair expert. It's like art. I bear in halt. What was he in? I can't remember what else he's been. He's a writer. He wrote um I want to say he wrote on Mindy Kayle's show. Okay um he's very funny but he's he's he's got more writing credits than acting credits but he's there is something else he's been on that I should be and maybe it is the Mindy show. Yeah um his dad was the judge in that show uh to call the jury where everybody put the one guy was in on it. Yes. Ike's dad who's not an actor. He's an attorney. He's a lawyer. Yeah. He played the judge in that show. Yeah. I love it. I love it. And he was like and now my dad wants to be an actor. It's so key but it's really it's a good show but knowing that it slaps sticky help may really like it more I think going in knowing that so it was good and Seth Rogan's really funny. The only other thing that I should have mentioned when I talked about my time in Macon was that the our friends at the True South were all around Macon filming and I wanted noted first of all that I did not actually stalk them even though I was having dinner around the corner from where they were. Got that. And John T said I should come over and I did. That's the for us. That's the for us. Because I was like I'm not that girl. Um if we had already been going there obviously I would have spoken and said hello but I didn't. Yeah I'm not that girl. Look it's the client. The client. The client. 45. Wow. That's what we're not doing this afternoon. Answering. Um so we know Mandy that you have some exciting stuff coming up so tell us all about that. What's your week like? Well uh for I have an exciting meeting. Oh well I meant other things. Well that list of this is fun so that y'all remember the craziest date. Yes. Um we're meeting with the guy who had my job before me. He screwed everything up. Yeah that'll be fun. This should be fun. Yeah. And then when I'm done with that I am headed to Nashville for Mother's Day weekend. And then we fly out of Nashville on Tuesday morning headed to Rome. Just in time to meet the new Pope. But uh hopefully we hopefully they I'm hoping they go ahead and get the new Pope. Yeah. And fix up the system chapels. Yeah. We're all cleared up before tour on the 15th. Yeah hope so too. Yes we're going to Rome and then Florence and then Ciccoteira. That'll be so nice. I know I'm very excited. Very excited. So belated graduation trip for Will belated honey moon for Julian Lewis and semi belated 50th perfect trip for me. I love it. Yeah. Very excited. Much less belated than the rest of that stuff. But not right. That's really sort of right on time. Yeah. But I love it. Yeah. Well you also have some exciting things Katie. I do. I do. I unfortunately thought that my graduation was at 10 o'clock on Saturday morning. It is at 9 a.m. Yeah. Hop to it. Yeah. And I have to be there at 8 o'clock. Yees. Are you getting up and driving through that morning? No. No. I'm going to the night before and spend the night with my friends, which will be nice. So that's great. And be fun. Um, it's early though. Like what the hell? Come on. And they have not given us anything. Like the most I've gotten today is a link that says here's where the video will be. The Laughy will be be there at 8. Oh boy. Okay. I do. I'm going to wear my red shoes. Um, we wear them at Pentecost and we wear them at ordination. So the world can see us coming. I think I've told that story on here before. So I get the red shoes out with the pearl buckles. So it'll be a good day. I'm really excited to celebrate three years of work. Absolutely. We are excited for you. Thank you. And if you know, you know, Mandy, if you really want to, I will send you the link so you can watch the last dream at 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning, your time. Katie's given the don't do it. The not. I mean, it'll be fine. It'll be fine. It'll be great. But yeah, that's early. That's very early. I'm sitting as soon as I thought it was 10. And when I thought it was nine, I was questioning my choices to actually walk. I got to get. So that'll be good. It'll be good. Yep. So there'll be one mile stand down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Congratulations, Frank. Thank you. Thank you. Well, we haven't decided with Mandy going off to all the Netherlands. We think we're going to record on Monday. But if we don't have an episode until she gets back, just know that we are sending you lots of prayers for safe travels. And I'm sending you on a mission. I know you're not going anywhere near Milan, but at least ask some people maybe what we should eat for the Olympics. Yeah. Since you'll be in. Yeah. So I'm so excited for you and all the adventures you're going to have in the break. And hopefully you'll feel good and enjoy it. So I've already said, Will's probably going to have to carry me piggyback. Oh, that'll be fun. I love it. He'll have a great time with this stiff year old ain't on his back. But yes. We'll be fine. Yeah. We'll be fine. It's all fine. Everything's fine. We're all fine. We're all fine. We're all fine. Yep. All right, go. Everybody have a good week. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers there. Yes. We are so thankful that you found us.
