Episode Transcript

I tilt my head like I'm Mandy. Hey, Katie. I'm sitting here trying not to be an old lady turning the thing on, like the thing where you squint and get closer so you can hear better. Popo did all that and he would keep his mouth open. Yeah, right. I'm trying not to be an old lady. I find myself doing that a lot. It's hard when you can't see. Okay, I've had the realization this week because when last we met, yes, my left shoulder was, you know, causing all sorts of havoc in my body. And I finally in my arm, like a surgery in my arm. So it was finally feeling better last weekend, the end of the week, end of the weekend. So Sunday, I was doing that thing where, you know, especially when you live in 580 square feet, you have to flip your closet over. Yes. And so I was working on that Sunday afternoon, and I literally just picked up like a bin of shorts. Oh, no. At which point my right shoulder, the other shoulder decided it was going to seize up. And it was more, you know, like when you get a knot in your shoulder, like it just sort of hurts, you know, just sort of all the time. This was more like back pain. If you ever had the back pain that just grabs you when you move a certain way. That's what my shoulder was doing Sunday night and Monday. The good news was I already had a massage scheduled for Monday afternoon. The bad news was I had to make it through without taking a pain pill because it was bad enough. I was taking narcotics on Sunday. I had to make it through without taking a pain pill so that I could drive myself to set a massage. And listen, I just have the realization that when you get to a certain age. And granted being a sickly human being, I have always sort of had this, but I did have a good run there of good health for about 12 years. You get to a point where you wake up in the morning and there's no jumping out of bed and stumble into the kitchen. No. You got to lay there a minute and figure out what's working today, what's not. Let's make sure we're greased up a little bit before we jump right out of this bed. That's just a real it's a real turning point in your life when you get there. And listen, I am there. I think frozen shoulder is a thing for menopause. And I don't think this is that I don't know what this is. Yeah, I think I slept funny on my arm the other day. And so mine's a little tender. And I thought, oh, Mandy, it's contagious. Right. It is. That's you know, I've been talking to my sister, of course, and I mean, because all my back problems, I'm immediately going to. Oh, it's a cervical spine issue. I'm going to have to have surgery. Right. Because when I was in about the seventh grade, my dad's neurologist in Macon told me that I should just go ahead and plan on a spine replacement. Oh, my genetics. So the fact that I am 50 and have yet to have a surgery on my spine is rather incredible. I'm the only person in my immediate family to have reached such a milestone. So, but we don't think it is because it's bilateral. She would just be on one side. But anyway, listen, that's who we are. That's where we are. We are bad shoulders. Squinty. Squinty. Mouth open. You know, listen, I cannot see anything. Same. I can't see anything ever. There's never a time glasses contacts readers. No, there is never a time where I can see. Well, yeah, it doesn't exist. Sometimes I forget to take my glasses off when I get in the shower. I'm like, this is in there. Yeah. Also, how scary is it to get in the shower with your glasses when you are a nearsighted person and you think you're correctly cleaning your shower? And then you get in your shower with your glasses on and it's like, oh, damn, I miss that spot. Yeah. Not good. No. Not good. Love it. Not good. And Mercy News. What day did we record last week? Did we record on Wednesday? Yeah. Okay. So Wednesday night, I went to choir practice and as I was leaving choir practice, we got the email back with the results from Mercy's GI panel. Completely normal. Right. So we didn't actually get like the labs. We got the narrative from the vet explaining what the lab said. And it was all a lot of, you know, she has, she can only have her food. She can't have anything else. Well, ma'am, other than those moments where she snatches something off the sidewalk, which hasn't happened since we went to the e-war vet a month ago, I can assure you, she is not getting anything other than her food. Well, it just takes a while for her to get used to these medications because she's been on them three months. How long is a while? And, you know, it's stressful transitioning to a new foster home. She's been there forever. She's been here since Thanksgiving. And shall I send you a picture of her lounging on her dog bed on the balcony looking at the Gulf of Mexico right now because I can. Anyway, so it was very frustrating. And then I get home and she, I won't get into it because not everybody enjoys these sorts of things, but she has the worst poop ever. Thankfully, the poop was bad enough that that got the doctor's attention. So we are down on actually my vet here called in two different medications, one for a bleeding ulcer. And the other, I don't really know what this, it's Thailand powder. The instructions on the bottle are for swine and chickens. So I'm not sure. Apparently it's very bitter. And so, you know, it said on the, on the internet, it said to like wrap it up in peanut butter and then coat that in cream cheese. Like that's the only way they could get their dog. Like you double, like it's so bad. Wow. So I'm like, well, obviously we can't do that. No. Can dog food, which Betsy had gotten. Somebody was donating, donating it to the vet clinic where she works. So I got that and I may put it in an ice cube tray. Yeah. Like little meatballs with it. And the first one I gave her, I gave it to her frozen and she bit into it and it cracked in half and all that powder spilled out. And she looked at me and was like, Give me the cane. Right. So then I let it thaw out. And she still, she, she, she still kind of like, she took the whole thing in her mouth, but then she kind of bit it. And when she tasted it, she kind of let about a third of it fall out of her mouth. But here's the good thing about Mercy. If she thinks you don't want her to have something, she by God is going to get it. So I just pretended like I was going to pick it up and boy, she gobbled it up. I was about to say that's some reverse psychology. So then in the, the ulcer medication you're supposed to administer in a slurry. I was like, Betsy, do you have any suggestions on that? She's like, crush it up and put it in water. I was like, I got that part, but like then what do you do? How much water? How finally do I need to crush it? Like, give me some help here. A slurry. They gave, they sent a syringe with that one. And so I tried to get her the first days and it like, we got about a third of it in there. Hello, honey. It's wild. Again, I just use the trick. I put it in a little ramekin and set it on the floor. And then it's like, Oh no, you can't have that. Don't have that. I love it. So we're over here playing chess with medications. And the only other thing is really, you know, baseball is back. It is. The baby boys are not. A whole lot of fun. This past week. They get swept by Mississippi state. Yeah. Which you hate to see. Hate to see that. No more cow bill. No more. But mama was probably excited. She was probably thrilled. She's really excited. She was really excited. She was really excited. She was really excited. She was probably excited. She was probably thrilled. She's really into the baseball season this year. Cause Mississippi state is good. Yeah. And then, but they did win last night. They were struggling early, but they came back and beat the stew out of Tennessee tech. As they should. But much like the Braves, the baby boys have had some pitching issues. So. Listen, the first game of the season is tonight on Netflix. It's the only game tonight. And then tomorrow is the Cubbies first game. So that's exciting. Alex Bregman. You know, I'm having a real hard time. I have, I have disliked Alex Bregman pretty intensely for nine years now. But now he's on the Cubs. And the reason I have disliked Alex Bregman. Yes. So the reason I have disliked him is because. He was taken number two in the draft. One Danesby Swanson was taken number one in the draft. They were both short stops in college. And I want to say maybe Bregman won the golden spikes award over Danesby. Danesby was, he was the MVP of the college world series. And then that was his, that may have been his sophomore year. Anyway, like they were always in competition in college because Bregman went to LSU. Anyway, Bregman chose the number two to wear because he was picked second in the draft. So anyway, I've decided if Danesby is okay with Alex Bregman, which he seems to be, then I feel like I can probably be okay with Alex Bregman too. We can find it in our heart. Ironically, the number two was taken already on the Cubs. Nico Horner wears number two. So I think Bregman is now wearing number three. I'm not sure. Anyway, he wrote the cutest sweetest piece in the players tribune, which is a, I think I want to say maybe Jeter started it, but it's a, I don't really know what it, it's like a platform for all kinds of athletes, different athletes in different sports, to write pieces, you know, personal pieces to especially author them themselves. Acuna came out with one year before last, talking about growing up, playing baseball with a ball of tape because they couldn't get a real baseball in his village where he grew up. I mean, you know, just stuff like that. Love it. I just wrote one, talking about moving to Chicago and how PCA, Pete Kurt Wormstrong, who was one of our players of the week. Yes. PCA and his son have become best friends. His son who's like five. Love it. He, PCA like played wiffle ball with him for 30 minutes one day. And ever since then he's Knox's favorite person. And Knox calls everybody by their full name. And when he was on the team playing with team USA, he was just walking up and down the aisle saying, Hey Bryce Harper, Hey Kyle Schwaber, Hey Pete Kurt Wormstrong, Hey Aaron Judge. It's now that Knox is most excited for the season to see Pete Kurt Wormstrong knock the ball over the fence. And I'm sure Knox is thrilled to hear that Pete Kurt Wormstrong has just signed an extension with the Cubs. The largest extension that doesn't have team options in it. That's around the baseball factory. But yeah, he got his bag. He got a good contract and he's going to be with the Cubs going forward. So that's exciting. So we're excited about the Cubs. We're excited about the Braves. Listen. Are we? The Braves have no pitching. The Braves have no pitching y'all. Zero, nine, zip, zilch, nada. The rotation that is currently on the injured list is much better than the actual starting rotation. We have no pitching. We have Chris Sale. We have Ronaldo Lopez who in his last outing, he had arthroscopic surgery last year. Don't talk to me like that. Yeah, I'm getting talked to all over the place every year. He had arthroscopic surgery last year. And the worst part is they didn't find anything wrong with him. Like I would feel better if they had fixed something, but they didn't find anything wrong with him. In his last outing, Katie, his fastball was 87 miles per hour. Come on. He's our number two pitcher. Number three is Grant Holmes who looks like Kenny Powers who also got injured last year, but then they couldn't find anything to fix on him either. What the? Next we have Bryce Elder who was real good for half a season two years ago. But since then, he can really stink it up, man. He can be good, but he can really stink it up. And then honestly, I don't even know who number five is. It may be Didier Fuentes who's 12. Yeah. And I'm good spring. But the good news is our bullpen is pretty good. Okay. It is not five o'clock. You are not eating yet. Go back. These two are doing the same thing. Like I'm getting it from both sides right now. There's a lot of huffing and puffing and jumping up and down going on. Well, the good news is our bullpen is nails. Well, that's good. Our offense should be really good. Knock on wood. So if we can just get enough runs. Yeah. If we can just get enough runs to get it to the bullpen, then we might be able to win some games. Chris Sale. We still have Chris Sale. So maybe we'll win a few Chris Sale games. I just lord. Is there anybody that can call up? No. The two most. Well, Didier Fuentes, who's 12. Right. He came last year and pitched a game in Miami when he, I mean, literally he was 19. I think he's 20 now. So I think he has made the roster. But no, like they're get Hurston Waldrop, AJ Smith Schaver, Schwellenbach. They were all the young sort of stud pitchers who had all been called up recently and all three of them were hurt. Oh, yeah. Did you hear? Did you hear Spencer Strider has an oblique injury? Yeah. The obliques. There's something we need to fire the trainer. Well, I need to get an oblique specialist in. Like, isn't it seems like they're just not preparing physically right or something. That's too many injuries and we haven't even started. Right. Agreed. But anyway, baseball's back. Yay. Yay. Yeah. And I would encourage everyone if you would like a secondary team, you can root for the Cubs. Yeah. I love dance. There's nice guys on the Cubs team. So anyway, what's what's going on with UK? Well, yesterday I went to Jennifer's. I had, you know, there's sometimes and pastoral world where, you know, when it rains, it pours. And so yesterday was a tough day. And I love that Jennifer saw that and let me come over. But Maggie somehow got a chip, a chip, one chip. And this morning, Maggie puked everywhere. Oh, no. Ever. Yeah. And it was not on the hardwood, which is easy to clean right on the rug. Yeah. No, they know that. Yeah. Can you hear this dog talking? I'm just going to ignore her. Can you hear her panting? Okay. Good. Cause she's right by the mic. Just this. No. Good. But she's so she is still so much fun. I love her dearly. She is. She's never met a stranger, which is not good for dogs and cats that don't like other dogs. Yeah. But I do love her. So we have to be and I already am diligent. Like I don't feed honey or Maggie from the table at all, but like Maggie will jump to get something. She's found her spice. So like I have to be extra super careful, like not to drop anything or do anything. But other than that, she's doing really well. Well, we're getting her groomed on Saturday because we're a groomer kind of dog. And so that'll be fun. I hope so. Add that to the expense list. All right. Yeah. But it's fine. I found a good one. They were her old groomer and they were very glad to have her back. They missed her and were glad that I had her and was going to bring her in and I am going to bring her in. So that was good. Wow. Mercy. Shitty Cathy today. She has some thoughts. She does. She wants to meet Maggie. She always has some thoughts. Yeah. I have told Maggie before the complaint department is closed today. Yes. Ma'am. The other thing I'm doing, a friend of mine, the same one of the same people that's in the football bracket that I do was like, Hey, are we doing a basketball bracket? And I was not planning on doing a basketball bracket. Auburn is not the right bracket. I do. That's the one bracket. But anyway, so we did and we have been I've been watching lots of basketball and look, I don't love basketball on TV. However, this has been a really good tournament. There've been lots of buzzer beaters, lots of fights, Iowa and Florida got real scrappy. One of the guys in the pool or there's a me, a girl and a guy and the guy in the pool is a Florida fan and I was like, Oh, put your George song is fighting time. And so that's been fun to watch. So we're in the middle of that. Christine ended up picking her picks by his coach was hotter. And look, she's been doing all right. There you go. Yeah. There you go. Yeah. So there we go. She has good judgment. That shows good judgment. Yeah. By the basketball team. Right. The powers that be. So why not? Yeah. Why not? She does a lot of team color picking and football. If we don't know who somebody is, we just pick by the colors we like the best. Okay. So she thought that this was a great way to pick for basketball. Absolutely. So there we go. But that's been fun. That's been giving me a little bit of life. It's just, you know, this time of year for pastors is really busy. It's also the time of year that Methodist pastors find out if they're moving. I am not moving, but a lot of my friends are. And so that's been interesting. And you know, we've got Easter coming up. So that's, you know, next week is going to be full, but really good, but really full. So just having those little moments of something totally different from what I normally do has been really, has been really, really life-giving. So yeah, but that's about it. Other than work, that's about it. So Mandy, what are you bringing us for books or food? Do you have anything this week? Well, what I'm currently reading, I feel like everybody's already read this, but it's a great book and well worth, I mean, is Just Mercy. You want to know Just Mercy? No. Oh, good. I'm glad I talk about them. So Brian Stevenson, who started the Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, wrote a book called Just Mercy. They made it into a movie. Who was in that movie? Who was Ray Charles? Oh, this is the other thing about being old y'all. I can see his face. Jamie Foxx. Jamie Foxx. Jamie Foxx starred in the movie. Okay. Just Mercy. It's great. Anyway, I have something coming up I'll tell you all about next week probably. Okay. Required a Just Mercy reading. So I was happy to revisit it. It's required reading for all incoming Mercer Law students. Now it wasn't when I went to law school, but it is now, which I love. You know, we have to read Whisper the River as undergrad coming in and saying, I love that we have Just Mercy. Not that Brian Stevenson went to Mercer Law School, but that doesn't matter. But yeah, so it follows his, he went to Harvard Law School, I think one of the big ivies, and he did an internship in Atlanta. Which led him to work with clients who are on death row. Okay. And as a result of that internship, he eventually ended up in Montgomery, starting the Equal Justice Initiative. And he has worked very carefully, very closely and carefully with people on death row. And this book follows one particular client of his. I have heard of that group. They did, I'll be able to tell you much more about this in upcoming weeks, but you know, there's the memorial. There's a memorial there in Montgomery. It commemorates slaves from each state, and I have not been, but I will be going soon. And so it's all like all that sort of tied together. Love it. Yes, definitely. And so next week, I'm hoping to start and read a book that's not a nonfiction too. So thank you for bringing that to me. I think I, no, I don't think I definitely need to add that to my list. Absolutely. You're reading and you're viewing lists. Yes, definitely. Recommended. So I'm very excited. So thank you for that. I appreciate it. I could come up with that one. Look at you coming up with things. Listen, how about you Katie? What's on your list of favorites this week? So if you are not watching the new Bill Lawrence show on HBO, right? Cosine. Rooster. And I will say the reboot of scrubs. I wouldn't say I wouldn't. Maybe I should go back and watch scrubs from the beginning. Yeah. I didn't watch all of it, but I've watched enough of it, but that's really funny too. And it really speaks to our generation of like still working, trying to mentor, you know, all that. But rooster, but rooster. Oh, rooster is so good. My favorite new show other than shrinking. Maybe I'm still a huge shrinking fan, but roosters great. It's star Steve Carell, who's amazing. Bill Lawrence writes it. Who is, if you don't know, it's my Rudolph's partner who just won the Oscars for. No, no, my Rudolph's. No, that's John Thomas Anderson. Yeah. Paul Thomas Anderson. Sorry. Brain. Bill Lawrence does scrubs and this and a couple of others. But anyway, so Steve Carell's amazing. He is a father and a writer. And his daughter is a professor and it's going through a divorce. And I loved one of my favorite characters in Ted lasso was Jamie Tart. And the guy that plays Jamie Tart is playing another version of Jamie Tart. And he's so funny. So the cast is great. The story is great. The writing is great. The cinematography, I think is really, really good because it's kind of dark all the time. It's just great. Watch it. Just watch it. It's good. I mentioned my friend had me over last night because it was a really, really hard day. I had to give somebody their last communion. And that was a tough thing. She was like, you bring those dogs over here where you're going to have dinner with us. So finding people who get you and see you and know what it's like. We talk about it all the time as friends. You know, she is a veterinarian and has to do the hard thing to put people's animals down. And that's terrible. It's really, really hard. Cause as you know, we love our animals more than we love our people a lot. And so she kind of has a different perspective, but has had the same kind of experiences. So finding someone, like that for me has been life-giving and she's like, Nope, you're coming over here. Okay. So, I encourage you to find people like that in your life that really, really see you and see when things are getting hard and recognize that in you. So I appreciate that very much. Good. Yeah. The next one is very regional, but if you're in, you know, I have found Pulaski Brewing Company. They're out of Hawkinsville, Georgia. It's one of the Georgia grown products. Pulaski is the name of the County that Hawkinsville is in. So if you're at MIT meets, if you're anywhere around here by favorite store, the station here carries it. Pulaski Brewing Company has amazing coffee and they've got regular decaf. And then they have a white coffee. And then they have a black coffee. And they've got regular decaf. And then they have a wine infused, which I have not tried, but I hear is really, really good. So Pulaski Brewing. Wine infused coffee. I'm guessing the alcohol is burned out of it in the roasting process. Correct. Yeah. It's not drunk. It's not actually our dream of alcoholic coffee. No. Okay. Just wanted to clarify. Yep. I think it's roasted. Maybe NY, I don't know if they say it's really good. I have yet to try it. I may get it this week just to try it. Cause I'm out. But that Pulaski Brewing Company is just another Georgia ground that I've found that I really love. One of our favorite podcasts. Have you listened to this one's Mandy yet? No, I have not. Okay. I did see her pull a carcass out of her wall. Yeah. Have you seen that? No. Okay. You go first and then I'll go. Yeah. Then tell us. So Anderson Cooper has a wonderful, wonderful podcast called All There Is. It's about death and dying. It is hard to listen to as someone who sits with people at the end of their life. I cannot listen to all of the episodes. I weep. I cannot listen in the car. I weep to the point of not being able to see. So I can't always listen to it. It doesn't mean I don't love it. One of my favorite episodes of that podcast was this Colbert episode. And if you don't know the Colbert story, Stephen Colbert lost two brothers and a father in a plane crash. Hey, we got it. We got some glands we got to take care of too at the Grimmer. Anyway, so Steve Carell lost his father and two brothers. And so he talks a lot about death on his show. That episode is amazing. If you haven't heard that episode, go back and listen to that one first. Because Sara Bareilles took the script of that episode and made it into a song and sang it for Anderson Cooper. And he you could hear him weeping uncontrollably as she is. He said, when it's over and he can catch his breath again, he says, I knew I should have listened to it first because it is like he's doing the ugly cry. You can hear him. But it's she talks a lot about Gavin Creel, who was a Broadway star. I saw a clip of that. Yes. So she talks about her grief as well and how that episode really helped her. The Colbert episode. And then the song is beautiful as well. So I just highly recommend first listen to the Steve Carell episode and then go listen to Sara's. It's so good. It's so cathartic and healing. But do not listen while you're driving. Just don't. And then go to her big talk and see her document. She has a weird little door in her house. Yeah. Like literally like not even a foot tall and a foot wide. Yeah. She's never been able to get it open and somehow like she came in and there was like dirt falling out of the door. And so she was able to get it open and inside of the hole in the wall that the door was covering up was like a carcass of an animal and not a person. A large rodent of some sort. I didn't watch the whole thing. I got too graced out. But yeah. She was singing a song about it. She was singing a song about it as she put on her gloves and got her paper grocery bag to like pull it out. I was like, oh, no, no, no. That's what I would call an exterminator. I would not. There's no way. Peace out. No, thank you. No way. No way. Yeah. Yeah. But I love her. I mean, I think she's funny and wonderful. So watch all her things. All the Sarah Burrows content. Yeah. And then the last thing that I have and we haven't done much music lately, but Prizefighter by Mumford and Sons, the new album is really, really good. Yeah. I recommend it. If you're looking for it on the things, it's got a lighter like one of the old clicky Zippo cigarette lighters is the album cover. And it's just really good. They were on or he was on Dax with Dax. And that was a good episode too. That's a really good one. I forget that he's married to Carrie Mulligan. They were like childhood sweethearts, which what kind of a power couple is that from church camp? But whatever. So anyway, that's a great album. So I really enjoy listening to that. So go check out some Mumford and Sons. Always love some Mumford and Sons. I know, right? This was particularly good. I really like the whole album. Well, Mandy, what are you up to this week besides shaking your head at your dog? And they're throwing themselves on the floor wanting to eat dinner right now. Listen, at least that y'all are an hour ahead. Yeah. It's not even five o'clock in the morning and you may or may not hear her carrying a little. Yeah. I'm actually headed to New Orleans tomorrow. Oh. Our devoted listener Elizabeth, who is the best because she will go a while without listening and then she'll binge to catch up and just text me. Like she won't say, I'm listening to the podcast. I will just all of a sudden, like I got a text last week that said, he did one on Cuba too. Who did what? She was speaking about Ken Burns. Sorry about the Ken Burns documentaries. He did one on Cuba too. Well, look, that's a very informative of her because if we're going to take over Cuba, we need to know something about it, right? That's great. Thank you. Yeah. So listen, but anyway, so Elizabeth has, she's there already. She's at a conference. And then our dear friend, Amy Miller, who grew up in your neck of the woods, Amy and I went to undergrad together. She and Elizabeth went to law school together because Amy went street three. Oh. And then. Okay. And so then I had heard about, I can't hear them at all. Good. But so I had heard about Elizabeth forever and ever and ever. Our friend Garth was a year ahead of me in law school. He grew up with Elizabeth in Tullahoma. So between Garth and Amy, I've been hearing about Elizabeth my whole life, my whole life, my whole, you know, the last 30 years. But I did not meet her until Amy got remarried. And we were both at Amy's first wedding, but we didn't meet there. But we finally met at Amy's second wedding. So anyway, Amy lives in Covington. And so she's going to come over. And so the three of us are going to have a little, really just a girl's night and a girl's brunch because we're leaving on Saturday. That would be so fun. Yeah. Yeah, but it'll be fun. And I'm going to go while I'm over that way. Two of my fosters live just outside of New Orleans. So Friday morning, I'm going to go see Dash and Sky. I love that. Dash, who got adopted six years ago today. As a matter of fact, he was known as the pony. Yes. And speaking of glands, he had an infected anal gland that eventually had to be removed. So that was a fun one to navigate, Katie. I think we're just prone to fill ours up. Yeah. Well, Murphy, just I think it was just itchy skin. But as she was walking around the green, just before we started recording, she just suddenly sat down and started doing the scooch on the green. Nice. You know, the butt scooch. Oh yeah, that's what Maggie's been doing like all around the room today. Murphy just did it right there out in front of God and everybody. Considering that there are also many times where the dog is pooping and makes farting noises as she poops. We are really, really popular. Amazing. Yeah. Yeah. What about you? What have you got going on other than, you know. Well, Palm Sunday is Sunday. And we're going to because we're a very small church. We're mighty, but we're small. We're going to do all of Holy Week in one service. So we're going to start with mainly scriptural readings and music. It's going to be a great service. So we'll do that. But this is one of the few times that I actually have a chance to go sit in a pew. So I'm going to go. If you were in or around Macon, Mulberry has their Holy Week services every day, 12 o'clock. It's like a 30, 35 minute service and then you could grab a lunch. So it's perfect for lunch hour. If you work and some wonderful people and friends are sorry, Maggie still, yeah, are preaching. And so I'm going a couple of days this next week to go sit in a pew, which I never get to do, which is great. And then, of course, Sunday's Easter. Speaking of the pew, I went to church Sunday for the first time in a month of Sundays and had decided to leave the dog out of the crate because she's been really protesting her crate. I had previously left her out of the crate twice when I was just downstairs. And so, you know, I set her up for success. There was nothing on the counter or anything. She could get locked her in the house because she can open the doors. But she immediately was on the counters before I made it to the elevator because I was watching her on my camera. But again, there was nothing there for her to get. So it was fine. I watched her the whole week at church and she's getting a shirt out of the dirty clothes because she couldn't find socks, which are her favorite thing. And she's hiding it in the couch. Oh, this is fun. By the time I got to church, she appeared to have decided to just go lie on my bed. Okay, great. So we're having rehearsal. As we are ending rehearsal, I pull my phone out. There is paper all over the floor. There is a red spatula on the floor. And she, about that time, comes right up to the camera, which is where all my liquor is. Maggie. And she looks dead into the camera. And I'm like, she about to mix up a pina colada. I believe I need to go home. Do it, girl. Come on, Maggie. Come say hey. Come on. I didn't even get to go to church. I had to leave. You're kidding me. Anyway, hopefully next Sunday since, you know, I've been recruited to come sing in the choir. Yes. I'll be able to actually enter. The Holy Days. Yes, exactly. I love that. Fingers crossed. Fingers crossed. Can you hear her? Uh-uh. The complaint department is definitely not open, but she thinks it is. So she is in there. She jumps like a rabbit. So her front TV and those big floppy, spaniel ears flop up and down. It's so cute. So she is standing. I can hear her. She's standing at her bowl, doing the jump, and then she's barking in protest that I have not fed her. Thankfully, I can hear. I put Mercy in her cradle Monday when I went to get that massage. Yeah. And she was raising hell. And the camera has a talk feature. And so I finally pressed the talk feature and I said, stop. And she turned around and looked at that camera. And if you look up, the fuck in the dictionary, there's a picture of Mercy in that moment. That dog was freaked out. I love that. And where my voice was coming from. But the good news, she stopped. Good. Yeah, I just called Maggie and she didn't stop. Maggie, come here. You want to say goodbye? Let's go feed these animals. Let's do it because they are pro testing. Everybody have a great week. Yeah, man. Happy Easter. That's not until next week. That's not until next week. Go wave your palms.
